| EmEdit
EmEdit is simple, perl script, file editor which writes to a text file called by a Server Side Include, to put the text on a SHTML (or HTML) page. It replaces the text in the editable area. As you type, a live preview of your entry is shown in an adjacent column.
Also included is a very basic, small website with all the necessary bits to make everything work. All you have to do is set your paths right and it will work.
As well as the original basic editor there is a new one with buttons for bold, italic etc. Multiple pages are better handled with a library script doing the main work and a very small one for each page.
EmEdit is aimed to those who want to include minor online editing from within a Perl script and don't want a fully blown WYSIWYG editor. You can alter it as needed to suit your purposes.
This is not a program you run on your PC as a text editor (that is another Emedit - there seem to be a few out there).
NOTICE EmEdit has been updated There are more options, including an editor with insertion buttons. Full instructions included
Please note that EmEdit is not the same as eMEDIT |
